11 More Days!

The countdown is on for our move to Naperville...11 more days!  Jason will be happy to be done with all of this driving.  He has made more than 10 trips back and forth from MI to IL and is ready to be done with it!  

We were out and about at the park this morning bright and early (before it got too hot)!  We can't wait to start exploring in Naperville!

Hole in One!

Jack's version of a hole in one...

Brandon teaching Jack some golf moves...let's just say Jack was testing his patience!  Jack wanted to run across the bridges, check out the fountains and basically do anything but hit the ball with a club.  He did enjoy putting the ball in the hole and then running off to check out something else.

Snack Traps

Forget the snack traps...the whole box works better!  This is what happens when you leave the cereal boxes on the counter!

Impression 5 x 3

It's been too hot and humid to play outside, so as of  Friday we had made three trips to Impression 5 for the week.  They both loved the newly upgraded First Impressions room!

Miss Julia - 22 Months

Happy 22 months to Julia!

You think that you are the same age as your brother and want to do everything that he does.  You prefer Jack's hat, shoes, toys....to your own.  I even put some of Jack's old clothes on you the other day and you trotted around like you were "hot stuff" telling me it was Jack's shirt and Jack's pants.

Your vocabulary is growing by the day!  You are stringing lots of words together and your favorite phrase is "I see you!".  You are starting to learn your colors and you have chosen orange and purple as your favorites.  You love to sing "You are My Sunshine" with me while brushing your teeth.

You love playing outside and going to the park.  The slide at the park is your favorite!  At home you love playing in the play kitchen,  the Kangaroo Climber/slide in your bedroom and Jack's cars.  You also love riding on Jack's tricycle (not that you can reach the pedals) and putting on his bike helmet.  Another one of your new favorite activities is climbing into your booster seat and strapping yourself in.  You work at it for a few minutes and then want down and head for Jack's chair to start the process again.

It's crazy that it's only two more months until your second birthday!

Potter Park Zoo

We had a fun morning at the zoo with Grandma!

I would really love it if they would both look at the camera at the same time, but it must be too much to ask!  Jack fell in love with the penguins and the bald eagles, he can't stop talking about them!

Isaac's Hat

While we were at Gymboree last week Jack & Isaac got new matching hats from the sale rack.  Isaac put his on as soon as we left the store so Julia thinks that we have Isaac's hat at our house and she wants to wear it all the time.  She proudly yells, "Isaac's hat!" as soon as she puts it on.  Check out the crazy outfit she had to wear with the crazy hat...she sure does have a mind of her own!

Treasure Hunt

Last week Jack & Julia loved their "treasure hunt" at Ma & Pa's.  We collected pine cones, walnuts, flowers...until our buckets were full!

This is my favorite...Jack & Pa were picking flowers on the side of the hill.  The moment was quiet and calm until Mommy showed up and then I thought Jack was going to tumble down the hill!

Bathing Beauty!

This little bathing beauty was having a grand time last week playing in the sprinklers at Grandma & Grandpa's!

Felzke Farms

We went strawberry picking this morning at Felzke Farms and it's a good thing they didn't weigh Julia before and after...

Jack thought it was fun to throw the strawberries, but that's okay since he wasn't really picking any that we wanted to keep.  We didn't keep many of Julia and Isaac's either since they were eating all of them!

At least they were sharing...

All of that food and fun can make a little gal tired...

Happy 4th of July!

We made it to the real parade after Saturday's mishap...Jack & Julia loved the parade!

Downtown

Life has really gotten the best of me (it's by no means an easy feat trying to keep a house presentable for multiple showings a week with two small children!)...and I really thought the 4th of July parade was on Saturday (I read it in the newspaper last week and looked online last night), but I was so wrong...and we were two days early for the parade....so we took a few pictures instead....

...and walked to The Peanut Shop for a few snacks (Julia ate about three M&M's and I think she was wearing every single one of them!)...

Jack has been out of sorts lately with all of the chaos and Daddy working in IL and he has a difficult time settling down to go to sleep...Jack finally fell asleep about 11:00 p.m. and this is what his room looked like (he's sleeping on the floor...almost under the bed).  He also tried on, took off, and then tossed down the stairs an entire package of "nap pants" (Pull-Ups).  It will be so nice to get settled in a more normal routine; however, I don't see that happening until the middle of August!
