Yes with a "p" = yep

Over the last few weeks Jack wants us to spell everything...how do you spell water, lamp, helicopter.....
He has also started saying "yep" and nope" instead of "yes" and "no"...tonight at dinner I told him that it sounds much better if you say "yes" with an "s" and his reply....nope, "yes" with a "p"!

Chuck E Cheese Please!

After another snowstorm and cancelled school yesterday we needed to get out of the house today!   Chuck E Cheese opens  at 9:00 a.m. (who would have thought!) and when we arrived at 10:00 we were the first people there (much better than the Saturday crowds).  Isaac, Jack & Julia had fun exploring and playing all of the games...

Maybe Julia is going to be the basketball player.  She wanted to carry the ball around with her until her mean Mommy returned it to the game (not without a HUGE protest from Julia)!

Little Miss Diva thought she was playing ski ball, she was trying to roll the ball down the lane and it kept rolling back to her (we got our money's worth out of that game!).

Miss Julia - 17 Months

Little Miss Julia you are 17 months old today!  You love to smile (you have to love that cute little dimple!), laugh and giggle (but not so much today...the last of your first set of molars is getting ready to appear!).

You love to play with your dollhouse and your favorite part is sitting all of the people and the animals on the potty.  You love to drive Jack's car, with the proper "vroom vroom" sounds!  You have started following me around with your baby stroller when I vacuum.  This causes a major problem as this is what Jack wants to do too...so one of you has to use the bus to push around.

You love to read books, your favorites are Silly Sally, Animal Sounds, Guess Who Elmo and Whoever You Are.  You love to sit in your little chair in your room and read books (and take them all of the shelves!).

You love to eat...some of your favorites are Mac & Cheese, grapes, bananas, hummus, cheese, olives, you have not met a cracker you didn't like...

A few of your favorite new words - cheese (when having your picture taken), sit, and what's that.

You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your big brother!  You often have to be right next to him and you absolutely must have whatever he is playing with (which make an unhappy Jack at times!).  Last week Jack was playing in a basket and you worked so hard to get yourself in the basket and give him a big hug!

You are in love with Elmo, last week you were carrying around Elmo's chair and when I told you that it was for Elmo you ran and got Elmo to make him sit on the chair...
Happy 17 months Miss Julia!

More Jumpin' Jax

Jack's school had a family fun night at Jumpin' Jax and everyone had fun....Daddy and Grandma too!  I have learned that it takes many eyes to watch these two...non-stop action!

Jack had so much fun with Daddy going down all of the slides (I think Jack was wearing Daddy out!)...

The Water Table

There's nothing better than the water table at Impression 5...and what a huge wet mess it was!  I think Julia and Isaac were wearing half of the water from the table.  Julia's pants were so wet that I had to wring out the water (lesson learned...I will be bring extra clothes next time!).  The three little monkeys were having a grand time...

Little Valentine!

While Jack was at school this morning Julia humored me and helped me with my picture taking homework...after all of the pictures these last two weeks she has started saying "CHEESE" as soon as she sees a camera!

I had to get a picture of her Valentine's skirt...

Valentine's Loot

Jack was so excited for his Valentine's Party at school!  He loved making Valentine's for all of his friends, but I think he was more excited going through all of his Valentine's...he keeps asking,  "who is this one from?"

Mr. Glitter lips....they did a few projects with glitter today...

Jack's special Valentine from Kyleigh...Jack talks about her ALL the time!

Jack sorting through all of his Valentine's!

It's Starting to "CLICK"

All this talk about ISO, shutter speeds and apertures is finally starting to "click" (a little bit anyways!)...I got to spend Saturday taking pictures at class instead of swimming classes with Jack & Julia (no offense kids, but camera class...as Jack calls it...was way more fun!)....

Cutest Pants Ever!

Newest project...ruffle pants and I think they are the cutest ever!  I can't wait to make a few more...

Aperture

Day #2 of my homework...changing the Aperture (f-stops...adjusting the amount of light coming into the "film")!  I ended up with a whole bunch of crazy pictures...

The first two...I couldn't do it again if I tried...a little strange, but I kind of like them!

One of my better photos of the day (the beaded necklace gets a lot of wear at our house)...

The instructor said that we are smarter than the camera, so we shouldn't use the "auto" mode, but I wanted to get a halfway decent picture so I turned it to auto mode (but I only did it once today!)....Jack played most of the morning in Julia's diaper box and this is where I found him whene I went to get him up from his afternoon nap.  He was quietly sitting in the box with his "friends" and blankets!

After "Jack in the Box"...he went to hang out in the laundry hamper...I went to put clothes in it last night and found Twister rings and the Hungry Caterpillar (notice the beaded necklace in now worn by Jack!)!

Shutter Speed!

I have not had homework in ages, but after my first photography class on Monday (which is like learning a new language!) my first assignment was to practice with shutter speed...I am hoping that the whole point of frequently changing speed is that we are not supposed to have great looking pictures and just understand what these changes do...

Don't mind the messy hair, but this is one of the best from yesterday's almost 200 pictures and it still has some major problems...

This shot was actually the best in my opinion and the subject was very cooperative!  Not sure if the instructor will check out our pictures, but he's in for a major treat if he does....dolls, hair bows, clothes, and my personal favorite Weebles (that's what there is to take pictures of when playing in Julia's room!)!

A "little bit" of snow!

After snowing all day yesterday Jack and I headed out to do a bit of shoveling.  It's hard to say how much snow we really got (maybe 10-12 inches) since there were tons of snow drifts.  There has to be some drifts on the side of our house that are three feet tall!  All I do know is that between Jason and myself it took a total of four hours to shovel the driveway!

Jack & the Optometrist

Last Friday Jack made a visit to the optometrists (after receiving a notice from the Health Department that he didn't pass his eye exam at school!)!  After a minor panic (since that's what a mother does...) Jack was off to the eye doctor.  Jack is near sighted (distance), but it's not anything to be worried about at his age.  Thank goodness for no glasses (I can only imagine what he would do with them!).  We will head back for another check next year!  Julia gets her turn next week.

Jack got to wear some "cool" glasses after having his pupils dilated...not that they stayed on for long!
