Grounds for Hope Cafe

A local church has a great cafe and kid zone...J & J had a blast with a few of their friends this morning! The new fearless Jack was climbing like crazy...

...little Miss J stayed closer to the ground in the little tree house! 

Jack's New Bike

Jack was beyond excited when he got his new bike this week!  He went on three bike rides today (two long ones and one short one to show Dad when he got home from work!).  A new bike makes a little boy tired (yeah for a nap!).

Miss J's 2 1/2 & Daddy's "Big" Birthday!

Miss Julia is 2 1/2 years old today!

  

Little sassafras keeps us on our toes!  I thought that we were going to bypass all of the tantrum drama, but no such luck...it's started in full force the last few weeks.  It usually starts with what you want to wear for the day and goes from there.  Daddy's much better getting you dressed, he lets you wear whatever you want (oh dear!).  You also feel the need to wear a hat all of the time (see the picture below with Jack & Daddy!).

You love playing outside, going to the park, playing cars with Jack, building with legos, painting, coloring, stickers, driving the red car (the one I thought I was going to be able to put out to the curb this year), reading books, singing (ABC's and Wheels on the Bus are your favorites).

You are a great little tooth brusher (thank goodness!) and are actually pretty good brushing by yourself!

You are a great sleeper and are so quiet in the morning that we don't know when you are up.

You are a little talker and it's fun to listen to your conversations with Jack!

You love going to Grace Pointe and school,  it's super cute when you name all of your school friends.  You even know most of the names of the kids in Jack's class...especially the boys (we are going to be in TROUBLE)!

The Arboretum

One of our favorite places...Morton Arboretum!

It was a big day for Jack!  Jack is normally scared of the heights in the tree houses and climbing toys (the ones where you can see ALL THE WAY DOWN!), but today he went a few times with Daddy and then announced that he was ready to do it by himself!

Pete's Castle & Lawn Mower Repair

While we were enjoying the 80 degree weather this afternoon Julia was buzzing around the patio and waving while announcing that she was "going to Pete's castle"...this girl loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!

Jack's Camera

Jack got a Fisher Price camera for Easter last year and I have not taken any of the pictures off from the camera (the ones that had not been deleted by the little camera users!).  When I changed the batteries today I was in for a special treat, lots of pictures of the ceiling, lamps, the floor, feet...

Exploring & Discovering

We are still exploring and discovering new places since we moved!  Yesterday someone told us about a great park so we had to give it a try!  We are in love with sunny and 70 in March!

Jack was there too, but he moves faster than his sister...

It's a beautiful day...

We love it when it's sunny and 70 in March!  We headed to the park after lunch for a bit of playtime and camera practice (I need lots of practice!)...

It would be nice if my subjects would stand still for more than 2 seconds...Julia is checking out an airplane that is getting ready to land...

Their expressions are priceless...now only if they would look at the camera!

Two Birds in a Nest

We went to Brookfield Zoo this morning and we talked these two into sitting in the nest while wearing the bird costumes ;)

Open Gym

We went with one of Jack's preschool friends to open gymnastics and the kids wore themselves out...

Rainbow Superstore

We met some friends yesterday afternoon at the Rainbow Superstore to play!  I don't know how many "swing sets" that had on display, but it must have been more than 20 and the kids loved it.  They make some great outdoor play equipment...and one of them could set you back more than $10,500...you can't put a price on FUN ;)
