3 Parks...2 Days

After a few crazy days we spent the rest of the weekend at the park...

CRAZY Days!

We left on Wednesday for Naperville...my first road trip with the kids.  I think it was about 5 hours in the car (thank goodness for the new DVD players and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!).  The trip started off rocky...we waited for a thunderstorm to pass through before we left, but then about 45 minutes into the trip we had to get off the highway as it was once again raining so hard I couldn't see...

We finally made it to the Indiana border for a little break...
We had a long sleepless night...I think they were both up until 11:00 p.m. and they are used to going to bed at 7:30ish...so NOT fun!

On Thursday Jack and Julia had fun roaming (running wild!) in the furniture less house. They also had fun playing with Grandma & Grandpa while Mom & Dad met with numerous contractors (I think it was at least 8 over 1 1/2 days)....
That wall will not be red the next time we see it!

Jack loves all of the fans in the new house and couldn't stop talking about them.  He loves the new house and was very upset (tired too) when we pulled in the driveway of our "old" house.  Through tears he was yelling that he didn't want to stay at this house!

Sleepless nights...this is what I found after I got out of the shower at the hotel.

Poor little gal curled right up next to the carpet samples to take a little rest...
The crazy went on and on...I had to deal with Jack's projectile vomiting in the car (so NOT fun!) on the way to meet yet another contractor...
Then to top off the craziness...we got home late Friday night to a clean house...just in case we had a showing while we were gone, but anyone knows that two kids and unloading two packed cars full of stuff can make any house a mess - so we were in BIG trouble when I got home from the post office at 11:55 with a realtor outside the house waiting to show the house at noon!  Thank goodness I got home when I did (our realtor somehow thought we were still out of town!)...and we had a few extra minutes to "power clean"....I mean shove everything back into the car, deal with wet laundry, I believe that I even stashed a few soda cans in the dishwasher.  It was a comedy of errors...and a few crazy days that I am glad are behind us!

Miss Julia - 21 Months

Julia you are 21 months old today!

You are sitting in your favorite chair getting ready to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!  Just so you know, we didn't let your big brother watch any TV whatsoever until he was 3!  You love Mickey Mouse, but I think your favorite is Donald Duck.  You love to yell "DONALD" and have big belly laughs when you see him.

You love swinging and going down the slide at the park...you are fearless (which scares me!).  You love to be outside and playing with the water table, actually I think that you just like to dump the water on yourself.

You LOVE to use the potty and last week you started getting out the potty seat and setting it on the toilet  (you want nothing to do with a potty chair!) and taking your pants off.  You have even had two big successes in a week!  I do not even ask if you have to go, you just do it on your own.  There is a slight problem, you think you can stand up to pee just like your big brother.  The other problem is that you have been stripping yourself naked in bed and let's just say that it's not fun to clean up.  I think I finally have you outsmarted and you will be wearing something with snaps or zipper from now on...

You love to say "no, no, no" when you are doing something you are not supposed to do...like emptying a box of Kleenex or wipes.

You definitely have your own opinions - which cup to drink out of, which snack you want, and what to wear.

Happy 21 months to our sweet little gal!

Happy Father's Day 2011

We only had a few hours to enjoy Father's Day at the park (so much to do and so little time, especially when you are trying to sell a house, buy a house and organize a move)!

Daddy and his little princess!

Jack was way too busy to have his picture taken with Daddy!

Grandpa, Daddy and Miss J (ready to get down and play)!

Yankee Doodle Days

Saturday we went to the Yankee Doodle Days parade in downtown GL!  We always love parades!  Jack LOVED running and picking up the candy.  He did finally realize that he needed to be quick to get more candy!

Check out this cute little gal!

1000 Tickets Please!

So we didn't have 1000 tickets saved up for the outrageous Chuck E Cheese shirts, but we each had about 500 and "luckily" you can pay cash for the remainder...

Jack & Isaac are proud new owners of tie dyed Chuck E Cheese shirts...

This little gal loves the Merry Go Round...

...and the motorcycle.  She threw a fit when she had to get off because another little boy wanted to ride!

Maybe it will be easier this time...

Julia had been hiding behind the curtains with the bananas...

...and then her new found love of the potty got the best of her....
We have not started any serious potty training, but she is very interested (which is more than I can say for her big brother...he was at least one year older than her and I was still in potty panic mode when he started preschool!).  Julia was even banging on the bathroom door at Chuck E Cheese this morning...yelling "POTTY".

A little bit of calm...

Today has been somewhat calm after a crazy two weeks...our house has been showed 5 time (that's a whole lot of cleaning!) and an open house (more cleaning...yeah!), a garage sale, a Mom2Mom sale, Jason working in IL and coming home on the weekends and crazy me volunteered to be coffee hosts at church yesterday (we didn't have anything else to do ;)...it's still going to be crazy until the move, but at least for today it's been a little bit calm and we headed to the park; however, the house that was neat and clean yesterday is not anymore!

Last Day of Preschool

It's hard to believe that school is over for the year! Jack has loved going to school, loved his teachers and most of all loved playing outside!

Julia really want to go to school too.  Today she helped herself to a book and took a seat at the table so she could sit down and read...

Jack playing with the doctor's kit...

Jack likes Mrs. J's pencils...

Jack singing and dancing (much more so than the beginning of the school year!)...

Last Preschool Performance!

We had to drive around a bit before church so a realtor could show our house (not to mention we had to stay up late and get up early to get the house ready...)....

Before the "performance" we visited with Mrs. J. at her retirement celebration.  We were so blessed that Jack had her as a teacher this year.  Not sure how Mrs. J. managed it, but she taught at OSL for 21 years!  We wish her a happy retirement!

Popsicles

You have to love a good popsicle on a warm and sunny day!
