Star of the Day & Worms...

Today was Jack's turn for Star of the Day at preschool this morning.  We made a poster for Jack to show his class and we were in charge of the craft for the day.  Julia was super excited because she got to go too....

The highlight of today's class was worms and the class was super excited (me too...yeah right!)...

Jack was watching and listening intently...

Lots of worms...I even had to pick up a few that were wiggling off the table...

Julia thought that she was part of the class and picked a chair right in the middle of all the action...

As soon as we got home we found a new home for our worms.  Jack was not into touching the worms at school, but this is what happened as soon as we were out of the car....

Hair Raising...

Our New Accessory...an EpiPen

She doesn't look too bad in this picture, but it looked a lot worse the night before when her face started swelling (cheeks, eyes, lips) and her face and the inside of her mouth started itching.  Aunt Anne saved us a trip to the ER, but it was still scary to see a reaction happen so fast!  We figured she must be allergic to walnuts or coconuts (she ate a piece of a magic cookie bar that was the size of a quarter).  We went to the pediatrician first thing on Monday morning and went to the lab for blood tests.  We found out today that she is allergic to egg whites, peanuts, walnuts, sesame, and pecans!  The sad part is that she has been eating peanut butter for quite some time now and it's surprising that she has not had some sort of reaction, since her peanut allergy level is the highest.  We now have an EpiPen and Benedryl that must travel with Miss J in case of an emergency, since a second reaction is usually worse than the first.  Hopefully we will find out more information when we meet with the allergist next month!

Easter 2012

We had a super fun Easter weekend in Michigan!

Easter morning we had an egg hunt and Julia emptied the egg contents into her pail and then put the egg back...

Jack was beyond excited when the Easter Bunny brought him the Crabby Boat from Cars 2 that he really wanted.  This is one of the first toys that he saw at a store and threw a small fuss when he couldn't have it (as a rule we don't buy random toys whenever they want something...so they usually don't even ask!).  Jack wanted this toy so much that a few days after we saw it at the store he suggested that Dad might like it for his birthday :)

Traveling Teddy

Traveling Teddy is going back to school this morning after a fun weekend with Jack!  Teddy slept each night next to Jack's bed in his little basket.  Jack loved reading stories with Teddy!  Teddy did get to spend quite a bit of time riding in the car to and from Michigan for Easter weekend!

Little Buddy's 4 1/2

Our little buddy is 4 1/2!

Some of your favorite things...playing outside, riding your new Cars bike, helping mow the lawn, helping in the kitchen, anything on the easel (stickers, paints & crayons), puzzles, cars (especially crashing them...not one of my favorite things!).

You love going to the park, the arboretum and museums!

You love going to school and have been making lots of new friends!

You still love your all of your monkeys and sleep with at least three of them at night.  Before bed you love to read stories and play hiding games.  

You love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and playing on your keyboard.

You love to pick out your clothes for school and proudly show me what you are wearing for the day.  Sometimes we have to turn around your shirt :)  You often insist on wearing your underwear backwards...with very good reason...the picture is on the back and you would like to see it!

You love your little sister and you love to play with her and you do a great job sharing with her (most of the time).
