Uncle John's & Andy T's

What a beautiful day!  We love it when it's sunny and in the 70's in October...so we headed to Uncle John's Cider Mill and then to Andy T's Farm!  Julia waited patiently while Jack played in the Kid's Corral...

Fire Prevention Week

Our local fire station had an open house for fire prevention week!  Jack got another look at all of the fire trucks...

We watched a demonstration on fire extinguishers...

Happy 3rd Birthday Jack!

Happy 3rd Birthday Little Buddy!

You are such a big little boy! 

You LOVE going to preschool!  You love your teachers, painting, playing on the playground and snacks.  We love that you come home singing Jesus Loves Me, tell us that everything God made is beautiful and just yesterday you told me that "God is Good!" 

Your new favorite color is green, it's always been blue, but recently you have decided that it's green!

You love Curious George and sleep with the two Big Brown Georges and often carry them around.

Your favorite toys are Matchbox cars, Thomas the Train and all of your sister's birthday presents.

Your favorite books are The Gruffalo and My Lucky Day (along with many others).  You have always loved books and you still do.  We have tons of books and I think you have the majority of them memorized.  You love to read with Mom & Dad and by yourself. 

You are very good at memorizing things...you have mastered the Pledge of Allegiance, know all of the phonics, your ABC's (upper and lower) and are very good at counting.  It's amazing at some of the details that you remember and pick up on.  You are not really into drawing and coloring, but preschool seems to be helping.

You are fascinated with lights and fans.  We think you are going to be an electrical engineer when you grow up!

You love your sister, but she loves to follow you around so you try to scoot away from her or sit in the chair so she can't bother you.

You have really started singing lately...you love singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Row Row Row Your Boat, Jesus Loves Me...but today your favorite was Happy Birthday (you were still singing it when you were in bed tonight!)...

Birthday Cupcakes

Jack is wearing one of his birthday presents....he was so excited to wear his new apron (that mommy made on the sewing machine!) and help bake his birthday cupcakes!

Jack loves to get out the mixing bowl...he carefully takes all of the bowls out of the stack to get just the right bowl and then puts them back in exactly the same way!

Jack is such a good little helper; however, I did need to throw away all of the remaining cupcake liners...he was playing with them and they ended up all over the living room!

School Pictures

Jack didn't have school today, but we did have to go to school and get his pictures taken.  He's all dressed and ready to go...I think he looks like a little man reading his paper (he's reading about Noah's Ark)!

Little Helper

Jack's 1st Field Trip!

Jack went on his first preschool field trip to a pumpkin patch this morning.  He was so excited!

They rode a tractor (the mom's walked) to the pumpkin patch, it was just about across the street from the school.

Jack being Jack....wandering around!  Those are plastic bags on their feet as it suddenly decided to downpour right before we were ready to leave.  At least it wasn't too muddy...until Jack decided to fall (once again...Jack being Jack).  To add to the adventure Jack got stung by a bee after playing on the playground...poor little guy!  Good thing we know he's not allergic, I think it's his third or fourth bee encounter of the year!

Leg Warmers

My late night (okay it was only 8:00 p.m.!) trip to Target resulted in some new leg warmers for Julia!  I couldn't resist trying them on her...

Then I needed to see if her new skirt fit...

Then I thought...why not the skirt with the leg warmers....

Off to Meijer!

I couldn't wait to go to the grocery store so Julia could try out her new grocery cart cover.  This was the latest project and it took FOREVER!

Julia didn't care about the cart cover, she just wanted her snacks!

It's still only a penny...

PARTY!

On Saturday we went to a party for one of Jack's new preschool friends.  His new friend turns 3 on the 28th and her sister turned 1 on the 23rd (she was born 8 hours after Julia...even at the same hospital).  Jack had so much fun!  Jack is sorting through his loot from the pinata.  It was so funny when everyone scrambled for candy and treats and Jack carefully (slowly) placed the items in his bag.

Miss Julia - 12 Months

Little Miss Julia you are 12 months old today!

You are the happiest little girl and always have a smile on your face!  You have really started cruising over the past month and love to walk with the walker.  You will love your new stroller walker as soon as you can get it away from Jack, which shouldn't be a problem for you.  You are not bashful when he has something that you want, you go after whatever it is!

You are still a great eater!  You stopped nursing last week (no offense, but I am so excited!) and are now drinking milk.  You are doing a great job with the milk!  You are a messy eater and love to eat out of the pocket on your bib before we take you out of your chair.  You eat with gusto and it amazes us how much you pack away, we don't know where you put it!  You love snacks...Jack has learned to never leaves his snack unattended.

Ahhhh....you are so cute when Jack brushes his teeth!  We tell Jack to open his mouth and say ahhh....you have to do it too.  We can hear you saying ahhh even if you are in bed and Jack happens to be brushing his teeth in the bathroom.

You still sleep 12 hours a night with one or two naps a day (depends on our schedule).  If you miss your morning nap you nap a little longer in the afternoon.  You are still a happy little gal if you miss your morning nap!

This month's favorite books are Animal Sounds, Puppy Love, Good Night Spot and Little Hands Love.  Your favorite things to do...take all of the books off of the bookshelves, play with Jack's cars, play in the cupboards and the pantry.  You love riding in the wagon and Jack's little blue car!
