Snow Adventure

While Julia was napping this morning we had a little snow adventure.  I was hating that we bought snowpants that were never going to see the snow, but not because we have not had any snow (we have had plenty!).  I thought it was going to start out like last time...taking longer to put on all of the winter gear than actually staying outside.  It started with protests and then a bloody lip (it's hard to walk in this get-up and impossible to stand up after falling down).

Well...45 minutes later we were still outside (the mittens even stayed on!) and Jack was loving it...he didn't want to go back inside!

We have so much snow we don't have much space left to pile in up!

The only way to get Jack back inside was to entice him with a snack...

First Tea Party

Miss Julia - 5 Months

Little Miss Julia you are 5 months old today!  You are the happiest baby ever...you even wake up in the morning laughing and screaming in delight.  You sleep 12 hours (from 8 to 8) and usually wake up once to eat between 4 and 6.  You nap in the morning and afternoon for about 2 hours and take a 20 minute capnap at 7:00 (while we eat dinner).  Hopefully you will outgrown the capnap at the 6 month mark so you can eat dinner with us.  Only one more month until you start eating a bit of food.  You are eating about 6 times a day.  You are wearing your 3-6 month clothes, but you still fit into a few of the 0-3 months!  Last week you started playing with your new Jumperoo...you love jogging in mid-air and watching your big brother.  You still love playing in your gym and love the mirror hanging from it...it's great to kick, watch yourself and chew!  You have started chewing on just about everything and it makes us wonder when your first tooth will appear.  Your brother loves to call you Ju Ju Bean and always wants to play in your room (especially when you are taking a nap...sometimes I think it's amazing that you can even fall asleep with all of the noise he makes!).

Jack wanted to do puzzles and read books...in the kitchen...don't you think he could have choosen a more comfortable place for Grandpa to sit! 

Just what our living room needed...

Jack "helped" with the assembly of Julia's new Jumperoo...he had to try it out while the seat cushion was in the washing machine!

Her little legs barely touch, but she has a great time jogging in mid-air and it's the perfect vantage point for her to watch her active big brother!

Valentine Pressies!

Jack couldn't wait to open the Valentine box from Ma & Pa!  It was so cute when he read the cards...he said, "the red one says Jack, the white one says Julia"!

Maybe even better than the "bonkey"...Sweetheart Tarts...a new experience for the little boy that doesn't eat candy.  Keep in mind that they are tarts and not at all sweet tasting.  He wanted more as he was drooling all over the place!

When it's a little too quiet...

You know something is up when it's too quiet!  I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner.  Jack normally plays in his own cupboards, but today he ventured into Mommy's cupboard while she was talking on the phone!

Our Little Valentines

These two so look like brother and sister!  We had a difficult time getting the perfect picture...this was as close as we got.  We couldn't get the hands out of their mouths, but at least they are looking at the camera and smiling!

Grandma...I'm ready to help!

Grandma, just wanted to let you know that Jack will be ready to decorate Christmas cookies this year!  Here is his first attempt at decorating...half of the cookie is "missing" and the hearts are not even on yet!

More from the Minnow

Our little minnow is having so much fun in swim class.  His favorite parts of class are kicking, pushing off the wall and doing the monkey crawl. I actually got a good photo in the pool this week!
