Little Computer Guy

Our little computer guy was having fun playing games on the "ancient" laptop computer (circa 2001).  I love the background in this photo...I never thought I would get used to the "lived in" look that comes with two little ones, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

It's a ROLL!

Julia been on the verge of rolling over (from back to tummy) for at least a week now and she finally did it today...at least 5 times, but it was still difficult to catch on video!

The Stolen Cupcake...Almost!

I thought the cupcakes were back far enough so that the little hands couldn't get to them, well I was wrong!  Jack did get a big swipe of frosting before I caught him, but no cupcake...he had to wait until after dinner for the cupcake.

You can spell what?

Way to go Jack! We didn't think you would learn to spell your last name so quickly...it does have 10 letters (the reason why your first name is Jack!). You can even spell it on the go...well, I guess you are always on the go...

Jack's not actually spelling this time, but it probably won't be long. Jack sure does LOVE his ABC's!

Hooked on Phonics

Jack sure can surprise us sometimes. It's amazing what he learns playing with his toys! I am not sure I knew all of the phonics until I heard Jack repeating them!

Dear Jack

Dear Jack,

It sure would be nice if you would cooperate when Mommy wants to take your picture.  I know she always has a camera in her hand, but maybe you could amuse her once in a while.  This is the best picture after many attempts this afternoon...

Who Stole the Cookie...

...from the Cookie Jar? Jack has always loved to read, probably because we started reading to him as soon as he was home from the hosptial. Now Jack loves to read with his sister, it's so cute when he says, "let's read with Julia"! Julia can't keep her eyes off her big brother and loves it when we read books!

I don't remember Dr. Seuss books being so long....but Jack loves them. He loves One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and his favorite part is counting the humps of Mr. Gump's wump (it think I have that right...).

Little Minnow

Jack started his "minnow" swimming classes last week.  He enjoyed class a lot more this week than last.  His favorites are pushing off the wall, kicking, and you are not going to believe this one...something they called the monkey crawl (moving down the side of the pool).  As soon as the instructors said the word monkey our little guy started making monkey sounds (we hope it's just a phase).  He also likes the locker room as much as the pool...  he is fascinated with the "numbers and ABC's" on the lockers...whatever it takes to get him dressed!

Miss Julia - 4 Months

Little Miss Julia you are 4 months old today!  You are a petite girl and weighed 12 pounds 7 ounces (26%) at the doctor's today.  You are 24 1/2 inches (51%).  Just within the last week you outgrew your 0-3 month clothes.  You eat 5-7 times a day and sleep 12 hours a night (getting up once to eat...usually between 4-6 a.m.).  You take 2-3 naps a day...a short morning nap in your bed, a longer afternoon nap in your swing, and sometimes a brief nap while we eat dinner.  You were rolling from your belly to your back at 6 weeks and did so for about 4 weeks.  The doctor said she usually sees this in smaller babies, but you would stop once you gained a little weight.  You had not rolled over in a month or so, but decided to show off at the doctors tonight by doing a flip on the table!  Yeah Julia!  You are such a happy little girl and you love to play in your gym, laugh and smile!  You also love to watch your big brother and today you gave him the biggest smile I have ever seen!

My mom loves it when...

...I get out every toy that makes "music" and play them all at the same time!
